Ok... I really mean it this time!

*GiGGLeS*

Ok so you're all probably wondering... 'Did she give in to a cigarette?... Did she?"..... *GiGGLeS* Of course she did! If I didn't then this post wouldn't have started so calmly! :-P

Lets just say that I have an irresistible begging face, that Hubby just can not say no to!...

Works every time!!!

Ok... so maybe it wasn't exactly THAT easy! Hubby is a man of contracts! He gave in yes, but under stupid conditions! *sigh* He gave me a piece of paper and a pen, and read out these words for me to write out...

(Yeh I know there is no 'h' in signed, but I was *sighing* when I signed the bloody thing!) But I gotta tell you, and I find this SOOO funny! That as he read out word for word for me to write out, the poor idiot read out the wrong name! The silly bugger seems to forget that we are married, and seems to think that I still go by my maiden name ffs! So with out even realising, he had told me to write out my full MAIDEN name instead of my married name! *GiGGLeS*

I was chuckling to myself the whole time I was writing, and thought that he would notice when i finally signed in my married name. But he didn't!!! :-D And I wasn't gonna say a word until he handed me my cigarettes!

Sure enough, when he handed them over, I said "Hey Hunny... your contract is not valid... na na na na boo boo :-P" (I did a funny little dance for more effect!) He looked at me blankly and said "huh? Why?" I then pointed out to him that the name was incorrect and did not match the signature I gave! *GRINS*

He had one look and said "Oh ffs you cheeky cow" and then he ripped it up with a smirk on his face! *GiGGLeS InSaNeLy* I WIN AGAIN!!! :-P

But seriously... even after I got my way and after my little scam, I felt disappointed in myself for giving in again! Well... after about my 5th cigarette anyway! :-P

*sigh*

But I really mean it this time!!!! I AM going to quit smoking and get into a much healthier lifestyle!!!

My good mate trublmaka even came up with an awesome idea...

She suggested that instead of attempting to do EVERYTHING at once (like the wonder woman I like to think I am... not! :-P) She said why not do one step at a time. Get to cleaning one room at a time, and each room can represent another change in my life.

EG. ROOM: Clean the Kitchen.

ACHIEVEMENT: Develop a healthy eating routine.

REWARD: Better health and weight loss.

I thought that was the coolest advice ever!!! So we are both going to do it together! :-)!!! I have allocated a different change in my life for each room I clean! I'll just go at my own pace, and when one achievement is made, I'll move on to the next! :-) Thanks Trub!!! You're the bestest! xx

I've got a real good feeling about this! :-)

(I say as I take a puff on my cigarette ffs!)

Good luck with your plan hon.

Hubby is soooo sweet with his demands. Not that they ever work on you! You'd get away with murder with him! lol

Utter Basketcase said...

Aunty Vi - ta! Sweet with his demands??? It's torture I tell you!!! :-P *GiGGLeS* Just kidding! Yeh I get away with lots, but not quite everything yet... still working on it :-P xx

The important thing is that you're making a start. Trublmaka is very wise. Addictions are hard enough to break even when you tackle 'em one at a time. Trying to do more than one at a time is a recipe for failure.

Good luck, darlin'.

Mag - Thank you :-) Yeh I know... I think the first thing I really need to work on is my patience! I have a problem with wanting to fix everything at once and NOW ffs! :-) xx

That IS great advice! You really were putting too much on yourself at one time. I'll be cheering you on, cuz I'm one of vi's biggest fan's biggest fans (hehe - I know, I'm a dork)

Utter Basketcase said...

Misty - LOL I LOVE THAT! :-D... hahah nah you're NOT a dork! Certainly not if you compare yourself to me *GiGGLeS*!!! xx

Ok, I gotta tell you that I quit smoking about 2 and a half years ago and it was the hardest thing I have ever done. I had the patch for six weeks and always and I do mean ALWAYS had some sort of sucky candy handy (in the car, in the house, in my office EVERYWHERE) and that did help. Also there is a web site www.quitnet.com that helped me. They keep track of how long you have not smoked, how many cigarettes you have not smoked, how much money you have saved etc. it is a wonderful web site. Just went there now and I have not smoked for /57 days, 16 hours,13 minuts and 2 seconds. I have not smoked 9896 cigarettes, I have saved 2 months, 15 days and 14hours of my life and I have saved $ 1,732.50. This is free(unless you want to sign up for some executive plan or something) and it really does help.
So in that, good luck my friend!!

Karin - Welcome back :-) WOW That's sounds awesome!!! I love the sound of that website, I am going to check it out right now! :-) xx

Lady - Thank you :-) hehe yeah I was hoping someone would get a chuckle out of it! xx

Good luck on your new lifestyle.

Trublmaka has a great idea taking a large challenge and breaking it up into smaller tasks. I have found making a list of the tasks works better then just looking at the larger picture. It’s not so scarey then.

Utter Basketcase said...

Daz - Thank you! :-) Oh I am so totally into lists toooo! It's ridiculous! I have wasted so many poor trees on unfinished lists! xx

You're hubby is tough, and funny. I've never been a smoker, but I'm that way with eating the wrong stuff.

My hubby used to bring me candy bars and sodas even when I begged him not to. He really sabotaged me.

Ash - *GiGGLeS* Yeh! I have all the addictions! And Hubbys are so fattening arent they!! xx

Every time I open this blog I either laugh like a drain or cry buckets, what a brilliant writer you are and the contract thing was just somehow typical..xx

LOL...you'll be the death of that poor man Doll! I can just see the look on his face when you told him that the contract was void. :D

Utter Basketcase said...

Emma - hahaha Thank you, glad you like it! xx

Muussy - *GiGGLeS* Don't you know it! :-) xx

Rhea said...

My husband's a lawyer...That contract's non-binding, you didn't have a witness, no public notary, you weren't in the right mind...you can get out of any contract!

That'll be $500 for the advice though. hehe

Utter Basketcase said...

Welcome Rhea :-) LMAO!!! I LOVE THAT! Hubby will be so ticked off to hear that, and I'd pay the $5oo just to see the look on his face! *GiGGLeS* xx

Rhea said...

You are so naughty! Thanks for the welcome!

Rhea - *Blushes* :-) xx

To quit smoking is a tough one. I knew a lot of people who quit and they had different styles to get rid of the habit. I guess it is not in the style, but the determination to do so. Goodluck, smart man you have there.

Lenny - Cheers! Well luckily I have finally quit since then! It took falling pregnant to do the trick! But Heck it worked!!!

Thanks for your comment! :-) xx
